The Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey has appointed attorney Jordan B. Rickards to a four-year term on the District VIII Ethics Committee, which oversees ethics complaints brought against lawyers in Middlesex County, New Jersey. There are eighteen district ethics committees in the State of New Jersey, all of which come under the jurisdiction of the Office of Attorney Ethics, which “acts as the investigative and prosecutorial arm of the Supreme Court of New Jersey in discharging the Court’s constitutional responsibility to supervise and discipline New Jersey attorneys.” Members of the ethics committees investigate grievances brought against attorneys who are alleged to have violated the Rules of Professional Conduct, determining both the facts and the law surrounding the grievance, and prosecute the meritorious complaints at public hearings.

Mr. Rickards has been engaged in the practice of law for sixteen years, and has been appointed to numerous positions, including Assistant Prosecutor of Middlesex County, Public Defender of East Brunswick and South River, Ethics Board Attorney of the Township of Old Bridge, and Alternate Prosecutor of Clinton Township, Clinton Borough, High Bridge, Hampton, and Lebanon Township. He focuses his practice largely in the area of family law, handling all aspects of divorce and domestic violence litigation. He is also experienced in the areas of personal injury and criminal defense.
