Rickards defeats DUI in Woodbridge, New Jersey

The Law Office of Jordan B. Rickards recently represented a client charged with a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) in Woodbridge, New Jersey.  The client was accused of having caused a car accident on a highway, then leaving his car on the highway while he ran away.  When he was ultimately apprehended by the police, it was alleged that he was under the influence of narcotics.

Rickards was able to demonstrate that the client ran from his car because he had to get to a medical facility in time to be administered his medication, and that since his car was disabled and the facility was only a mile and a half away, he had no choice but to run.  Rickards also retrieved medical records that demonstrated that the client, while at the facility, had been administered certain prescription medication which explained the positive result for narcotics.

As such, the DUI charge and narcotics related charges were dismissed, thereby saving the client at least a seven-month loss of license, and the client pleaded guilty to merely careless driving, which is only a two-point violation, and the Court granted civil restraints, meaning that no part of the prosecution could be used against the client in a subsequent civil proceeding.
